A capstone project created by Layne Maddox with the goal to make this region a better place to bike. Layne hopes to reach this goal through hosting bike events, discussing bicycle parking options with businesses, and working with the community to find solutions.
Tired of being stuck in traffic? Why not take a break from your car and enjoy a nice bike ride on your way to work? It doesn’t have to be to work. You could take your bike to go to school, coffee, a park, and more. I challenge you to use your bike for transportation at least once between September 22 through September 28, 2024.
UPDATE: DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER DURING THE ORIGINAL DATES, I AM NOW EXTENDING THIS EVENT THROUGH OCTOBER 19.
BIKE LAYNE TAKES THIRD IN PITCH COMPETITION
Layne Maddox competed in the ETSU Elevates pitch competition on October 7, 2024. Bike Layne ended up winning third place in the competition and earning an additional $1000 in funding to improve the bikeability of this region. This funding will be used for bike parking specifically.
